dae·kun

[deɪkən, tεgʌn] noun

I'm a 4th year Computer Science undergrad at the University of Waterloo.

Much of my work focuses on bringing the magic of the virtual to the physical and leveraging our innate spatial perception and manipulation capabilities. Oftentimes, this involves using immersive technologies like AR/VR 🕶️💻

My work has been featured on national TV (CBC, CTV News). I also have publications in top-tier HCI venues like ACM CHI (Kim et al., 2023; Kim and Vogel, 2022), receiving an Honourable Mention award (top 5% of submitted papers).

Currently, I am working on reconstructing images of our vision (from our eyes or even dreams) from EEG-measured brain activity (see the fMRI version).
